Es Licenciada en Química por la Universidad del Valle, Colombia, Maestra en Ciencias Químicas por la UNAM y Doctora en Ciencias de la Vida por la Universidad de Lille 1 Francia. Su línea de investigación se centra en el “estudio de la O-GlcNacilación y señalización de la insulina en modelos in vitro”.

Dentro de su productividad académica ha publicado 5 artículos de investigación internacional, es miembro del SNI en el nivel de CANDIDATO, ha dirigido 1 tesis de licenciatura y 2 de maestría e impartido 5 cursos de licenciatura, ha presentado 16 trabajos en congresos internacionales, ha participado como ponente en diversas conferencias y talleres nacionales e internacionales.

Profesor-Investigador Titular A, Universidad Autónoma Benito Juárez de Oaxaca, Líder del Cuerpo Académico “Investigación en Salud”, UABJO CA-63. Miembro de la Red Temática “Glicociencia en Salud”.
